Research and Development committee planning a fascinating future
This newly formed committee met for the second time today and looked at five projects to kick off the years research calendar. One of the most interesting is the development of seedball technology to enable absolute zero tillage agriculture. Enhancing soil health in the golf turf industry was another project aimed at bringing the benefits of mature and semi mature compost to what is arguably the most intensively managed grass in the world.
Extracting the goodies from certain composted product and liquefying these, offers the promise of making the use of liquid nitrogen fertilisers in broad acre farming less destructive of soil and more effective in delivering results in all soil types. Members of the committee are Chair – Jess Bell, Deb Archdeacon, John Barton and Colin Walker (absent today).
